Why is my VW leaking coolant?

On EA888 turbo engines in Jettas, Golfs, GTIs, Passats and Tiguans, coolant leaks most often come from the plastic water pump and thermostat housing, which crack and seep with age.

How often does a VW DSG transmission need service?

Most VW DSG (direct-shift) gearboxes call for fluid and filter service about every 40,000 miles. Skipping it is a common cause of rough shifting and mechatronic problems.

Why does my 2.0T VW rattle on a cold start?

On many 2009–2014 2.0T engines, a rattle for a few seconds after a cold start can be a worn timing chain tensioner. If it fails, the chain can skip and damage the engine.

What is carbon cleaning on a VW TSI engine?

Direct-injection TSI engines never wash the intake valves with fuel, so oil vapor bakes on as carbon until it restricts airflow and causes misfires.

Why is my VW TDI losing power or not starting?

On 2009–2015 2.0 TDI engines, the high-pressure fuel pump can fail internally and send metal through the fuel system. DPF and EGR problems can also cause power loss.
