Interesting Information

Hyundai was founded in 1967 and introduced its first original car, the Pony, in 1975—designed by Giorgio Giugiaro, the legendary Italian designer behind the DeLorean and Volkswagen Golf. Today, Hyundai is one of the few automakers that manufactures its own steel, with its integrated steel plant in South Korea supplying materials for vehicle production. The company's "Smartstream" engines represent the industry's first use of Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) technology, optimizing performance and efficiency in real time. Hyundai also operates one of the largest automotive testing facilities in the world, the 3,600-acre California Proving Ground in the Mojave Desert.
